A university in Canada is seeking an Assistant Professor of French to begin in August 2020. The successful candidate will teach upper-level courses in a progressive program and will have the opportunity to secure external funding for research. Candidates should have a doctorate and demonstrate commitment to teaching and research excellence.
The Department of Modern Languages & Cultures at Baylor University is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor of French, beginning August 2020, to teach intermediate and upper-level courses in a dynamic program committed to innovation and excellence.
Candidates should possess an earned doctorate in a related field and they will be asked to provide a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, official transcripts showing highest degree conferred (if ABD, also submit official transcript of completed Ph.D. hours), and three confidential letters of recommendation in the application process. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a research and teaching agenda appropriate for an R-1 institution and will be encouraged to seek external funding (which could include fellowships, grants, and other forms). Ability to teach Italian—in addition to French—preferred but not required. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
