Overview

Truck Logistics Coordinator

Maxim Truck & Trailer

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates the transfer of L & R units interprovincially between Maxim branches through a network of contract drivers. This includes planning logistics & tracking the transfers, recruiting drivers, ensuring drivers have all documentation and instructions needed, reviews and submits driver expenses.
  • Coordinates the units coming out of the L & R fleet and into used truck inventory. Coordinates transfers with the fleet maintenance team, arranges for and ensures all needed repairs are complete, and ensures customer needs and timelines are met.
  • Supervises branch yard staff through recruitment, delegating work, motivating, training, providing performance feedback and submitting biweekly payroll.
Qualifications
  • 3 to 5 years in a related role such as logistics or dispatch
  • 2+ years office administration
  • A combination of total years of experience for the above will be considered
  • Dealership and industry knowledge preferred
  • Worked with budgets or cost constraints
  • Experience supervising or directing a small team preferred
  • Mechanical knowledge an asset (to understand checklists and breakdowns)
  • Class 1 Driver’s License with air brakes an asset
  • Ability to communicate effectively with varying levels of people
  • Customer service focus & ability to build relationships
  • Proven leadership skills including motivating, coaching and training staff
  • Strong administration skills and attention to detail
  • Organized, sets priorities, meets deadlines
  • Ability to identify and solve problems
  • Proficient with MS Outlook / Word / Excel
Hours

7:00 AM to 4:00 PM; must be available for after hours for emergency calls
