Job summary

A local transportation company in Surrey is looking for a Truck Driver to operate and transport goods using straight or articulated trucks. You will be responsible for planning routes to minimize fuel consumption, conducting inspections, and ensuring the safety of cargo. A Class 1 or A Driver's License and a high school graduation certificate are required. This is a full-time, permanent position with a flexible work environment.

• Load and unload goods.

Responsibilities

• Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, GPS equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
• Load and unload goods
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• Perform brake adjustments
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo

Education

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience
