Employer: LOAD CARE EXPRESS INC.

Location: Abbotsford, BC V3G 0C4

Work location: On site

Salary: $36.80 per hour (40 to 60 hours per week)

Terms of employment: Full time; shifts include Morning, Day, and Evening

Start date: As soon as possible

Responsibilities
  • Drive as part of a two‑person team or convoy
  • Load and unload goods
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs
  • Perform pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
  • Tarp the cargo and ensure safety and security
Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • License: Driver's License (Class 1 or A) required
  • Documentation knowledge: Inspection report (pre‑trip, en‑route, post‑trip) and trip reports
  • Type of trucking and equipment: Flatbed, Tractor‑trailer
  • Communication systems experience: Operate GPS and other navigation equipment
  • Transportation/travel experience: Long‑haul, Provincial/territorial
