Job summary

Ledcor Highways is hiring skilled Truck and Coach Technicians/Heavy Duty Mechanics for our Highway Maintenance team across Ontario, including Sault Ste. Marie. This shop-based role involves 10-hour shifts, with travel to field operations.

Compensation ranges from $28.05 to $48.90 per hour, with base wage dependent on trade certification and location; relocation may be provided. Benefits include health, dental, and RPP plans.

Qualifications

• Must have 310T Truck and Coach or Red Seal On-Road ticket.
• 3 years of driving abstract history required (valid driver’s license).
• Prior heavy civil construction or highway maintenance experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of heavy construction and maintenance equipment (plow/sanding trucks, loaders, etc.).
• Follow manufacturer/internal maintenance programs and inspection procedures.
• Adhere to Ledcor safety policies and complete maintenance records/d documentation.

421A Heavy Equipment Technician

Job description

Ledcor Highways is now hiring skilled Truck and Coach Technicians/Heavy Duty Mechanics for our Highway Maintenance team for multiple Locations in Ontario.

We are currently hiring in the following locations:

• Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario

Rates & Premiums:

• Journeyperson Mechanics will be paid a base rate of $46.75/hr
• Mechanics receive a skilled trade premium of $15/hr in Wawa and White River
• Relocation packages available
• Employer paid benefits provided by CLAC including Health, Dental, and RPP plans

Work Conditions:

• Monday to Friday work week 10-hour shifts
• Shop based with travel to various field operations required

Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance and repair of heavy construction and maintenance equipment such as plow and sanding trucks, loaders, and light support gear
• Follow manufacturer and internal maintenance programs and inspection procedures
• Engage and participate in Ledcor safety policies and procedures
• Complete maintenance records and documentation as required

Qualifications:

• Must have a 310T Truck and Coach ticket from a recognized provincial authority, or a Red Seal On-Road ticket
• Previous experience working with heavy civil construction and/or highway paving and highway maintenance equipment (i.e. snowplows) would be an asset
• 421A Heavy Equipment Technician ticket is an asset
• A valid Driver's License and ability to provide a 3-year driver's abstract
• Ability to understand and effectively carry out verbal and written instructions and read sketches and diagrams
• Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision

Compensation

$28.05 - $48.90 per hour

This is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location.

Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.
