Job summary

A community health organization in Canada seeks dedicated individuals for their TRUCHA program focused on HIV prevention and support. About TRUCHA

La Clínica’s HIV prevention department, Together Reaching Users Combating HIV and AIDS (TRUCHA), has been delivering HIV testing, outreach, and prevention services for over 25 years. TRUCHA was established 25+ years ago to respond to the threat of HIV in the Latinx community, especially for those most vulnerable, such as the jornaleros (day laborers). Since then, TRUCHA has grown and undergone many changes. Today TRUCHA is still a site where people in the community can come for culturally relevant services related to HIV prevention and HIV care, as well as other services that affect our community.

  • HIV Testing
  • HIV Prevention Education
  • Counseling and Support Groups for People Living with HIV
  • PEP/PrEP Navigation and Care Linkage
  • Trauma‑Informed Care for Patients Living with HIV
  • Naloxone Administration Training and Distribution
  • Substance Abuse Education and Prevention Training
  • Condom and Lube Distribution (Free to All Members of the Community)
Your roles and responsibilities:
  • Supporting the staff and patients with the following programs
    • PrEP & PEP
    • The Ryan White program
    • The YOR program
    • Narcan training & Harm reduction
    • Food distribution
Requirements:
  • Requires a nine week commitment of at least one day a week. Hours can vary.
