Treasury Manager

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Treasury Manager is responsible for planning and executing day-to-day and period-end treasury activities, including managing cash flow forecasts, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring compliance with banking agreements and internal controls over cash management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and support treasury policies and procedures.
  • Maintain internal controls over cash management, including receipts, disbursements, and treasury activities.
  • Manage bank accounts, working with banks on access rights, signing authorities, and account setups or closures.
  • Review and approve electronic disbursements.
  • Handle foreign currency transactions and hedging activities.
  • Support cross-border cash transactions and intercompany loans documentation.

COMPLIANCE AND REPORTING

  • Oversee bank collateral audits and inventory appraisals.
  • Prepare and file borrowing base reports with banks and subsidiaries.
  • Monitor cash investments.

COMMUNICATION AND RELATIONSHIPS

  • Maintain strong relationships with banking partners and support subsidiaries' treasury needs.

FINANCIAL ANALYSIS AND PROJECT SUPPORT

  • Prepare daily cash forecasts and manage cash flow requirements.
  • Review interest calculations and evaluate banking products and services.
  • Identify process improvements and support special projects and acquisitions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 5 years of corporate treasury management experience.
  • Knowledge of treasury accounting, liquidity, cash flow, and foreign exchange.
  • Experience with cash flow forecasting in multi-divisional, multi-currency organizations.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently.
  • Excellent collaboration skills across all levels.

EDUCATION

  • Post-secondary education in financial management; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Treasury designation is an asset.
