The Children’s Aid Society of the District of Thunder Bay seeks a Traveling District Child Protection Worker to handle protection and counselling services for families and children in the Thunder Bay district. The role involves investigations, risk assessments, report preparation, and collaboration with community partners.
The incumbent will be based in Marathon or Nipigon with travel across the district, working a 9:00am–5:00pm schedule, Monday to Friday, with some variation in summer months.
Full-Time, up to 12-month Contract (33.75 hours/week)
Salary Range: $60,824 - $88,142
Mileage reimbursement rate: $0.61/km
The Traveling District Child Protection Worker receives referral information, investigates allegations of mistreatment and neglect, assesses the need for ongoing agency involvement, and provides short- or long-term therapeutic interventions and support as required to prevent circumstances which may lead to child maltreatment.
The incumbent has accountability for case decision-making and direction. The Incumbent may also be assigned cases with regards to Child Care and Resource Case Duties as required. The Traveling District Child Protection Worker will be based out of Marathon or Nipigon, and will be traveling to and within the District Community that they have been assigned to. The working schedule, including travel from and within the District Community, will be 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. This schedule may vary during the summer months.
