Job description

We are looking for skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses/Registered Practical Nurse (LPNs/RPNs) with a minimum of 18 months of experience to join our new travel team who will be sent on short-term travel assignments in hospitals across lower British Columbia. Assignments are available in ICU, ER, OR, Med/Surg, PACU, NICU, Psychiatric, Long Term Care, and Public Health departments.

Duties & Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients within the Operating Room (OR) according to established standards and administrative policies and procedures.
  • Assess patients’ physical and psycho-social needs; identifies problems, plans, implements, documents, evaluates and coordinates the nursing care of assigned patients and performs scrubbing and circulating duties.
  • Obtains, checks, sets up and positions supplies, instruments and equipment required for surgery ensuring that instruments and equipment are in working order
  • Coordinate and provide nursing care to patients according to physician and anesthetist orders and in conformance with established standards and hospital policies.

Candidate Requirements

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • A minimum of 18 months (1.5 years) of experience working in a Operating Room or PACU environment.
  • Current and valid CPR/BLS.
