About the Role:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will provide patient-centered care in collaboration with the healthcare team. You will work within your scope of practice to deliver care to patients with clearly defined health challenges and predictable outcomes. For patients with increased acuity or complexity, you will provide care under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate treatment.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct nursing care in alignment with patient care plans
  • Monitor patient health and report any changes to the RN or healthcare team
  • Administer medications and perform treatments as authorized (including IV initiation and IV medication administration where permitted)
  • Document care activities according to NSHA standards
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Follow unit-specific policies regarding LPN scope (check with the Charge Nurse regarding IV-related responsibilities)
Requirements:
  • Active and in-good-standing Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Nova Scotia
  • Understanding of and adherence to LPN scope of practice
  • Strong communication, organizational, and clinical skills
  • Ability to work both independently and under RN supervision
  • Flexibility to adapt to different care environments and patient needs
  • Flexible availability and willingness to travel
