Job summary

Noojmowin Teg is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide trauma-informed medical and forensic care for SDVS clients. Responsibilities include responding to calls, triage, taking health and assault histories, conducting medical-forensic exams, and maintaining chain of evidence.

The role requires current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, CPR, and preferred SANE/NE experience; training in SDVS will be provided on hire.

Qualifications

• RN in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current CPR certification required.
• SDVS NE training provided upon hire; SANE/NE experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls and assist with triage for medical needs before forensic exam.
• Conduct health and assault histories and perform medical-forensic exams.
• Collect forensic evidence and photographs; maintain chain of evidence.
• Provide risk assessment and safety planning; testify when needed.
• Work trauma-informed with victims/survivors; participate in meetings and events.
