Job summary

A community health organization is seeking Community Connectors to assist members in accessing services that enhance their health and well-being in Ontario. Responsibilities include conducting wellness checks, providing counselling, and connecting members to resources. Candidates should have a related diploma and experience in Mental Health & Addictions. The role offers part-time hours at $25.00 per hour, with potential for additional training.

Qualifications

  • Two years’ work-related experience or lived experience of Mental Health & Addictions.
  • WHIMIS, Mental Health First Aid, ASIST, Training and CPR & First Aid Certifications.
  • Crisis Response Training is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist community members in accessing health and social services.
  • Conduct an intake with community members to connect them to appropriate services.
  • Provide supportive counselling to community members.

Skills

Ability to work with minimal supervision
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Understanding of the Addictions and Mental Health challenges

Education

Post-Secondary Diploma in Health or Social Services
High School Diploma or Equivalency
