  • Procuring radioactive and nuclear materials by reviewing site and import licenses to ensure material compliance.
  • Coordinating required internal and external notifications related to radioactive and nuclear material shipments.
  • Registering and tracking radioactive sources through CNL’s Radiation Protection source registry and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) Sealed Source Tracking System (SSTS).
  • Preparing and submitting regulatory applications and supporting documentation for import/export licenses, transport permits, and package certificates.
  • Ensuring all licenses, permits and certificates are valid, current and in place prior to shipping or receiving RAM.
  • Completing year‑end reporting by tracking shipment volumes against licensed quantities.
  • Supporting audits by maintaining accurate shipment records, databases, spreadsheets and documentation.
  • Providing training and guidance to shipping personnel, including developing materials, conducting auditing sessions and supporting daily shipping operations.

  • Providing specialized RAM shipping advice to internal and external stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Supporting incident response activities related to RAM transportation, including participation in exercises and providing documentation, assessments and operational support.
