The Opportunity:
The Transportation Pricing Specialist plays a key role in developing, evaluating, and managing the pricing database to support strategic decision‑making and ensure transportation services remain both competitive and financially sustainable.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
- Maintain and audit pricing databases within Transportation Management Systems (SAP) to ensure accuracy in billing, invoicing, and rate structures.
- Maintain weekly fuel surcharge rates in SAP.
- Manage rate structures and pricing databases for various transportation modes (LTL, FTL, intermodal and cross‑border).
- Analyze transportation costs, industry benchmarks, and market trends to identify pricing opportunities and recommend strategic adjustments.
- Utilize advanced Excel tools and transportation management systems (SAP) for reporting and cost variance analysis.
- Generate monthly reporting using Excel and analytical tools.
- Provide strategic insights to leadership on pricing performance, carrier cost trends, and optimization opportunities.
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend enhancements to pricing workflows, tools, and data management practices.
- Meet with MLF Freight Audit, Planning, and other internal stakeholders to identify variances, opportunities, and assist in issue management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring:
- Knowledge of distribution, transportation, and freight costing.
- 3‑5 years of logistics experience, including experience in managing pricing tables for full load, LTL, international, rail and cross‑border.
- Professional designation (e.g., CITT, P·Log) or other related courses would be an asset.
- Strong collaboration skills.
- Alignment with Maple Leaf values.
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to provide insight.
- Strong problem‑solving, prioritization and organization skills, able to manage multiple projects with strict timelines.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills for informal and formal networking across the organization.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Functional capability with SAP TM would be an asset.
