Job summary

Stantec is seeking a talented Transportation Project Manager to join our Transportation Team in Winnipeg, with opportunities to support Regina or Saskatoon offices.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams on planning and traffic engineering projects, manage budgets and schedules, and build strong client relationships across local, regional, national and international scopes. Hybrid work is available based on project needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering and professional registration in Manitoba.
Minimum 7–8 years of transportation engineering experience with project management.
Ability to manage transportation staff and deliver projects.
Experience with business development and proposal preparation.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
Knowledge of Manitoba transportation markets and processes is an asset.
Experience in stakeholder and Indigenous engagement is an asset.
Experience in transportation planning and traffic engineering is an asset.

Responsibilities

Your Opportunity

Stantec is currently seeking a talented and dedicated Transportation Project Manager to complement and grow our skilled Transportation Team in our Winnipeg, Manitoba office. The opportunity could also be located in our Regina or Saskatoon, Saskatchewan offices, supporting the broader regional team. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can work in a team environment and wants to be involved in exciting local, regional, national and international projects. Reporting to the Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning Team Lead, you will assist in the pursuit of and be responsible for project management of transportation planning and traffic engineering projects.

Opportunity provides for a hybrid work environment. In office presence is expected based on project needs, client meetings, and team collaboration.

Your Key Responsibilities

Managing and coordinating multi-disciplinary project teams.
Preparing and managing project budgets, forecasts, work plans, and schedules.
Develop and maintain relationships with key clients.
Consulting with agencies, stakeholders, Indigenous communities, and public.
Overseeing quality control of project deliverables.
Assist in staff development and mentoring of an established yet developing regional practice including mentorship of engineering and technical staff.
Proactively look for ways to improve project delivery, quality, and efficiency.
Supporting business development and proposal preparation.
Promote our strong safety culture, ensure this is at the forefront of our business, and lead by example

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Demonstrated ability as a project manager of transportation projects.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with clients and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated working knowledge of City of Winnipeg and MTI polices, standards, and specifications.
Ability to manage transportation staff in successful delivery of projects.
Experience with business development and proposal preparation.
Participates and collaborates in project team settings and engages in creative and critical thought strong leadership, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Possesses good oral and written communication skills.
High level of proficiency with Microsoft suite of Office 365 products.
Knowledge of Manitoba transportation markets and processes, with strong past client relationships is an asset.
Experience in stakeholder and Indigenous engagement is an asset.
Experience in transportation planning and traffic engineering is an asset.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Professional registration with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.
Professional registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists Saskatchewan is an asset.
Minimum of 7-8 years of experience in the transportation engineering industry specifically related to project management.

Position will primarily work in an office setting and may require some field work.
