Dillon Consulting Limited is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join its Transportation Infrastructure team on a full-time basis, hybrid Ontario offices. You will provide technical leadership on municipal and provincial transportation projects, lead multidisciplinary teams, and help grow client relationships and business opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil or transportation engineering.
• Licensed professional engineer in Ontario or eligible within six months.
• 8+ years of professional experience in consulting transportation engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and delivery for transportation projects within multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop technical expertise across master plans, environmental assessments, preliminary and detailed design, and construction phase services.
• Prepare technical reports, EA documentation, and contract drawings/specifications.

Overview

We are seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation Infrastructure team in a full-time, position based at any of our Ontario offices. Reporting to the Discipline Lead, you will provide technical and design leadership on preliminary and detailed transportation engineering projects for MTO and local municipalities. In this role, you will work in multidisciplinary project teams, maintain client relationships, and participate in business development efforts to ensure successful project delivery.

This is a new position and can be based at any one of our following offices: Ottawa, Kingston, Toronto, Vaughn, Oakville, Hamilton, London, Kitchener, Chatham, or Windsor. Responsibilities

Design and Project Delivery

• Lead technical design and delivery for transportation engineering projects and multidisciplinary project teams (including transportation, structural, electrical and water resource engineers, transportation systems planners, environmental planners, environmental scientists, technical support staff, etc.)
• Continuous development of technical expertise on a variety of transportation engineering projects, including transportation master plans, environmental assessments, preliminary design, detailed design and construction phase services
• Participate in the preparation of technical reports and studies to support the development of civil infrastructure designs, including EA documentation
• Participate in the preparation of Contract documentation, including contract drawings, construction specifications, tender quantity and cost estimates, and working day estimates
• Management and delivery of stakeholder consultation programs and municipal council and agency presentations

Business Development

• Prepare estimates and project proposals
• Contribute to the leadership and growth of the Transportation group
• Contribute to the development of public and private sector client relationships and new business opportunities
• Business travel for project meetings and to other Dillon offices upon request

• Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development
• Contribute to the career development of junior and intermediate staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring
• Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees

Qualifications

• A degree in civil or transportation engineering
• Licensed to practice as a professional engineer in the province of Ontario, or eligible to be licensed within six months
• A minimum of 8 years' professional experience, preferably in the consulting industry

Experience

• Proven experience in environmental assessment, preliminary and detailed design of municipal and provincial transportation facilities. Experience with the Ministry of Transportation, Ontario and alternative project delivery models would be an asset
• Demonstrated abilities in the management and leadership of multidisciplinary projects and teams
• Exceptional abilities in project management
• In-depth understanding of business issues associated with consulting engineering and planning
• Proven skills in public and agency consultation
• Experience in the geometric design of highways, municipal roads and intersections
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil3D or Bentley OpenRoads would be an asset
• Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are essential

Compensation

$82,900 - $132,900

It will be dependent on the successful applicant’s education, experience, and skills, in addition to internal equity and geographic region. Dillon reserves the right to pay outside of the posted range, contingent on factors unrelated to an applicant’s gender or other status protected by provincial and/or federal law.
