Start Date: ASAP | Type of Position: Term or contract, Full Time | Positions Available: 1 | Salary: $28.78 per hour

The role is for a Transport Truck Driver responsible for transporting, removing, delivering, and collecting various liquid and solid hazardous wastes from multiple sites. The driver will load/unload trucks and operate equipment including vacuum trucks, box trucks, tractor-trailers, and other licensed equipment on site as needed.

Education, experience, and on-site requirements are listed below.

Responsibilities
  • Plan or adjust routes using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and emissions.
  • Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques and maintain professionalism in customer service.
  • Load and unload goods; operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • Inspect vehicle condition, tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment; perform brake adjustments; conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections; oversee all aspects of vehicle and preventive maintenance.
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch; record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption; tarp and secure cargo.
Specific Tasks
  • Operate Vacuum/Hydrovac Truck, Box Truck, Tractor Trailer, Pick-up truck, and utility trailer.
  • Collect hazardous and non-hazardous goods from sites; perform lab packing and de-packing duties; administer bills of lading after collection.
  • Provide feedback to supervisor on customer problems, mechanical issues, or delivery problems.
  • Bulk chemicals into larger containers with safe, compatible handling; assist with Lab-Pack materials coding and shipments; assist plant operations as required.
  • Maneuver trucks, position loading equipment correctly, and ensure debris is cleaned up after loading/unloading.
  • Inspect loads for security; ensure compliance with applicable Acts and regulations (safety, hours of service, OHS, TDG, customs, weights/dimensions).
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle damage; perform power washing and high-pressure cleaning as required; line snaking, drain and pipe inspections as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness of tools, equipment, and shop; industrial cleaning of chemical waste (hazardous and non-hazardous); maintain clean appearance of trucks at all times.
Education
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
Experience
  • 1 year or more of experience operating transport trucks to collect liquid and solid hazardous wastes.
  • Commercial driver's license; AZ or DZ class license.

Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

  • AZ or DZ class license.
