Compensation & Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package that includes:

Hourly Wage Progression:
  • $31.30/hour after 1000 hours
  • $28.95/hour from 640 to 1000 hours
  • $27.39/hour from 320 to 640 hours
  • $25.82/hour for the first 320 hours

  • Paid 2-week training at$17.85
  • + Union Benefits

Knowledge and Experience
  • A valid Class 1 or 2 driver's license with air brake endorsement.
  • Driver's abstract with no more than 3 demerit points and a demonstrated record of safe and responsible driving over the past 5 years.
  • Significant skills dealing effectively with the public, including demonstrated skills in conflict resolution, problem solving, and sound decision‑making in positions providing customer service.
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to communicate effectively with the traveling public and to report on incidents involving safety and/or service.
  • No criminal convictions or pending charges relating directly to the Operator position.
  • A good knowledge of Prince George and area is a definite asset.
  • Willingness to participate in a comprehensive recruitment process which consists of interviews, trainability session, medical examination (as required for licensing), drug and alcohol screening, criminal record and reference checks.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive medical examination relating to Motor Vehicle Act requirement for a Class 2 driver's license.

Key Accountabilities
Customer Transportation
  • Safely transport passengers on a number of assigned routes within Prince George.
  • Transport customers in accordance with Municipal and Company policies, observing all traffic laws and safety rules and adhering to time schedules.
  • Courteously and professionally interact with customers.
  • Load mobility devices and escort customers to and from curbside as required.
  • Make general announcements to customers.
  • Issue day passes
  • Collect correct fares and ensure valid passes are presented.
  • Manage passenger behaviour by quickly and effectively solving problems.
  • Drive safely and responsibly and be prepared for all road and traffic conditions.
  • Arrange for passenger pick‑up and drop‑off as required.
Reporting and Emergency Procedures
  • Complete a variety of vehicle and incident reports as required.
  • Carry out emergency/accident procedures when required.
  • Answer inquiries en route.
