PWTransit is currently seeking casual and part-time Transit Drivers to join our team in Fort St. John. The shifts can occur Monday through Saturday. We offer competitive wages, ongoing training and development, and a family-oriented team environment. Drivers are responsible for safely transporting passengers on a daily basis and must be committed to providing superior customer service. Commitment, patience, maturity, and initiative are all required qualities.

Position Requirements :

  • A valid Class 1 or 2 driver's license with Air Brake endorsement
  • Driver's abstract with no more than 3 demerit points
  • Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol screening
  • Clear criminal record
  • Must be organized, punctual and reliable
  • Possess excellent driving skills and habits
  • Ability to read maps and navigate
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • A good knowledge of the local area is a definite asset
  • Willing to work shifts, including split shifts, weekends and statutory holidays as necessary

Principal Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Safely transport passengers on a number of assigned routes
  • Manage passenger behaviour by quickly and effectively solving problems
  • Drive safely and responsibly and be prepared for all road and traffic conditions
  • Provide superior customer service and assist with passenger questions / inquiries

Additional Information :

  • A good knowledge of the local area is an asset
  • This position may require working shifts, including split shifts, as well as weekends and statutory holidays
  • Selected applicants will be required to participate in a comprehensive recruitment process which consists of interviews, trainability session, medical examination (as required for licensing), drug and alcohol screening, criminal record and reference checks
