Job summary

Electromega is seeking a Traffic Systems Technician to join our Quebec team, contributing to the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic, parking, and smart mobility systems throughout the province. You will work directly on client sites, diagnose issues, and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

If you enjoy field work and solving technical challenges, you will gain hands-on experience with automation, TCP/IP networks, and device commissioning.

Qualifications

  • Education in electromechanics or automation or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of traffic, parking, or smart mobility systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform service calls at client locations.
  • Install, maintain, repair, and commission automated traffic and parking systems.
  • Diagnose electronics, electrical, mechanical, and computer issues.
  • Configure, calibrate, test, and validate equipment.
  • Provide on-site, phone, and remote technical support.
  • Train clients on equipment use.
  • Participate, on a rotating basis, at the daycare.

Your daily tasks
  • Perform service calls directly at clients' locations;
  • Install, maintain, repair, and commission automated traffic and parking systems;
  • Diagnose electronic, electrical, mechanical, and computer problems;
  • Configure, calibrate, test, and validate the proper functioning of equipment;
  • Provide on‑site, telephone, and remote technical support;
  • Perform repairs in the workshop when required;
  • Train clients on the use of equipment;
  • Participate, on a rotating basis, at the daycare.

Qualifications

Education

  • DEP, DEC, or any other relevant training in electromechanics, automation, industrial electronics, electricity, instrumentation and control, or a related field related.

Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar position or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Assets

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networks and network communications;
  • Knowledge of electronics, electricity, automation, or industrial computing;
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, electronic, or mechanical schematics;
  • Proficiency in using measuring instruments (multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.);
  • Experience with traffic management, automated parking, or access control systems;
  • Knowledge of Windows Server, Hyper‑V, SQL, TeamViewer, VNC, or AutoCAD.
Language requirement

Knowledge of English is required as the successful candidate will be Communicate with clients, suppliers, and partners located outside of Quebec, and access technical documentation, equipment manuals, and software available only in English.
