A leading marine transport company is seeking a Trade Supervisor for the Steel department. This full-time position is based in North Vancouver and emphasizes leadership, safety, and quality in the shipyard. The ideal candidate will have substantial supervisory experience in a heavy industrial environment and possess strong communication and organizational skills. The General Supervisor, Steel is responsible for leading their team of tradespeople by coordinating and overseeing completion of trade activities within the Shipyard. The General Supervisor, Steel will ensure that projects are completed efficiently, safely and in compliance with all regulations and company standards. The position reports directly to an Area Manager and requires significant interaction with Trade Management.
Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 50 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.

The estimated salary for this position is $115,000-$127,000plus a shift premium for the afternoon or graveyard shift. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

This position may involve defense articles and/or technical data regulated by the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and the U.S. Arms Export Control Act. In compliance with ITAR, the successful candidate will be subject to a security clearance through the Canadian Controlled Goods Program as regulated by the Controlled Goods Regulations and Defense Production Act. The successful candidate will be required to maintain their security clearance throughout their employment in this position.
