This is your opportunity to lead Trade Compliance from the inside out — ensuring full adherence to Canadian and U.S. export laws, driving classification accuracy, license submissions, internal training, and cross‑border enablement. You’ll be the key Trade Compliance professional supporting a growing site with global reach and high‑value products, working hand‑in‑hand with senior leadership and global compliance teams.

Your Role in Trade Compliance :

As the Trade Compliance Specialist, your mission is to ensure that export activities are fully compliant, properly documented, and proactively managed.

You will :
  • Execute accurate classification of goods and technology (HTS, ECCN, ITAR).
  • Prepare and submit export licenses and permits under Canadian and U.S. law.
  • Manage and maintain Trade Compliance documentation, reporting, and audit readiness.
  • Conduct third‑party screenings, denied party checks, and due diligence.
  • Lead Trade Compliance training for key functional areas (engineering, logistics, contracts, etc.).
  • Ensure robust recordkeeping and oversee periodic Trade Compliance self‑assessments.
  • Interface with government agencies (Global Affairs Canada, CBSA, DDTC, BIS) and report issues or investigations.
  • Support logistics and operations teams with day‑to‑day Trade Compliance advice and escalation handling.
  • Continuously track and interpret regulatory updates affecting Trade Compliance and export law.
What You Bring to Trade Compliance :
  • 1–3 years of experience in Trade Compliance, with a strong focus on export regulation and operations.
  • Proven ability in export classification (ECCN, HTS, ITAR), export license and permit preparation, navigating Canadian EIPA, Controlled Goods Program, and U.S. ITAR / EAR.
  • Strong communication in verbal and written.
  • Post‑secondary education in international trade, business, commerce, or a related field.
