Overview
As a Tractor Trailer Delivery Driver, you will safely and efficiently deliver petroleum products to commercial customers, retail sites, and bulk plants while adhering to all DOT regulations and procedures. You will collaborate to plan daily routes, ensure efficient loading of the fuel truck, and conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections to guarantee performance and safety. Your goal is to provide a meaningful and essential service to Irving Energy customers in a safety-focused environment. Your success will depend on adherence to daily routes, loading the fuel truck, and completing pre- and post-trip inspections while maintaining compliance with all Department of Transportation regulations and procedures.

Your Responsibilities
- Driving a Tractor Trailer delivery truck while adhering to all DOT regulations and procedures
- Deliver Irving Oil Products to locations within the required geographical areas
- Collaborate with Dispatch to improve route efficiency by providing recommendations for delivery scheduling, clustering customers, or identifying challenging delivery locations
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure truck performance; maintain familiarity with different trucks/trailers to accurately inspect trucks, trailers, tires, pins, lights, etc.
- Safely load and unload product from storage facilities following all safety policies and procedures
- Report hazards or unsafe situations that cannot be corrected to the manager
- Complete daily shift report and all required paperwork with accurate information
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle – inside & outside
Your Skills
- Previous experience with liquid loads is considered an asset
- Good verbal and written communication with load builders, dispatchers, and sometimes customers; basic mathematical skills are necessary
- Good judgment and some technical skills
- Able to ensure timely product delivery while considering safety issues and problems during pre-trip checks and delivery
- Strong safety focus required
Your Experience
- Valid commercial truck driver's license with a clean Driver's Abstract
- Class 1 designation with air brakes, WHMIS & Dangerous Goods Certification
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required
- Minimum 2 years Commercial Transportation (Class 1/A) experience
