Job summary

Tridon Communications is seeking a Tower Service/Rigger Technician based in Fort McMurray, AB. The role covers installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of telecom equipment on tower sites, including climbing towers up to 500 ft and installing antennas, cabling, and connectors.

This multi-skilled position values networking, structured cabling, and radio systems expertise to support wireless infrastructure and data services across diverse environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in tower and/or telecommunications work.
• Experience with hand and power tools, testing equipment, and installation materials.
• Knowledge of telecom networking requirements and standards.
• Ability to work safely at heights and in hazardous environments.

Responsibilities

• Install and service PTP and PTMP wireless systems.
• Install and test structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, Fiber).
• Program and diagnose radio communications systems.
• Proficient with test equipment such as multimeters, watt meters, antenna diagnostics tools, and DTF.
• Experience with tower climbing, rigging systems, and fall protection procedures.
• Read and interpret telecommunication drawings and engineering documentation.
• Site surveys and tower inspections.
• Towing and deploying portable towers and trailers.
• Other duties as required.
