Adecco is actively seeking a dynamic Tourism Manager to join our esteemed client, a member of the Assembly of First Nations, to oversee and promote tourism activities, enhance visitor experiences, and develop new revenue streams in Gold River, BC. This full‑time position, offering a competitive salary, requires 31.5 working hours per week, promoting work‑life balance. The role demands strategic planning, excellent organizational skills, and a collaborative spirit.

  • Pay Rate: $95,000-$105,000 / year.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the scheduling and staffing of activities related to parking and boat launches at the local Marina.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and staffing of the water taxi service to meet visitor demand and maintain high service standards.
  • Handle all point‑of‑sale operations, ensuring accurate and efficient transactions.
  • Manage tourism‑related revenue responsibilities, including tracking income, managing expenses, and reporting on financial performance.
  • Identify, plan, and develop potential new tourism revenue‑generating activities that align with the community's strategic goals.
  • Conduct market research and feasibility studies to identify new opportunities for tourism growth and development.
  • Develop and forecast budget needs for both existing and expanding tourism operations, ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Seek and obtain funding from various BC rural tourism initiative programs.
  • Monitor budget performance, adjust plans as necessary, and report on budgetary outcomes to the CEO and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with community members, local businesses, and other stakeholders to promote tourism initiatives and ensure alignment with community interests.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and national tourism organizations.
  • Work with the hotel manager to position the hotel (owned by the First Nation) as a destination of choice for all tourism‑related activities.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the region’s tourism offerings.
  • Manage digital and traditional marketing channels to attract visitors and enhance the region's tourism profile.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve visitor experiences to ensure high levels of satisfaction and repeat visitation.
  • Develop visitor programs and services that highlight the unique cultural and natural assets of the First Nation.
  • Undertake other ad hoc projects as assigned by the CEO, based on time availability and organizational needs.
Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Tourism Management, Business Administration, or related field.
