Job summary

A global energy service provider in Alberta is seeking an Entry-Level Maintenance Technician to perform repairs on down-hole tools and surface equipment. The ideal candidate will hold a high school diploma, possess a valid driver's license, and have basic computer skills. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must have a current and valid driver's license and a clean motor vehicle record.
  • Basic computer skills are preferred for the role.

Job Duties
  • Under strict supervision, performs maintenance functions such as repairs on down-hole tools, surface equipment and other production equipment in the application for down-hole tools.
  • Assembles and disassembles down-hole tools, surface equipment, and other production equipment.
  • Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
  • Ensures compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines.
  • Promotes and takes an active part in the quality improvement process.

Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs. Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available, including Tool Technician II or Tool Technician III.

Qualifications
  • Candidates who are not legally authorized to work in Canada will not be considered. Halliburton will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must have a current and valid driver's license, clean motor vehicle record, and able to provide a copy of drivers abstract.
  • Basic computer skills are preferred.
  • Licensure to drive commercial equipment may be required.
  • Given the nature of oil field service work, the ability to communicate effectively with others is necessary.
  • The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division is required.
