Job summary

Mitchell Plastics, a growing automotive plastics supplier, seeks a skilled mould maker for full-time, permanent work in Ontario. You will manufacture tooling components, fit and repair tools, and perform regular maintenance while documenting changes and hours.

Minimum Grade 12 and a 4-year mould maker apprenticeship (or comparable trade certificate) are required. Ideal candidates have strong blueprint reading, precision measurement, and knowledge of quality and environmental management

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education required.
• 4-year Mould Maker apprentice program or comparable trade certificate.
• Experience with precision measuring tools and blueprint interpretation is essential.
• Familiarity with Quality & Environmental Management Systems procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture tooling components to specified specs and ensure proper function of new tooling.
• Fit and repair new and existing tools.
• Perform regular maintenance on tools and shop equipment.
• Implement engineering changes on tooling across departments.
• Train Tool Room staff and assist with 5S and preventive maintenance.
• Document repairs and changes and record worked hours to the correct job numbers.

• Duties & Responsibilities
• Responsible for manufacturing to specified specifications all tooling components and ensuring proper working of all new tooling in a time‑effective manner.
• Responsible for fitting and repairs of new and existing tools.
• Responsible for regular maintenance of tools and shop equipment.
• Responsible for manufacturing any engineering changes requested by different departments on new and existing tooling.
• Responsible for training Tool Room Assistant/Technician/Apprentice team members.
• Assist with 5S in the Tool Room Area.
• Assist with complete preventative maintenance work on the tools.
• Responsible for applicable documentation of all repairs and changes.
• Responsible for recording all worked hours and allocating them to the appropriate job number.
• All other duties as assigned by Tool Room leadership.

• Minimum Qualifications
• Grade 12 education.
• 4‑year Mould Maker apprentice program or comparable trade certificate.

• Required Skills
• Working knowledge of precision measuring equipment.
• Understanding of geometry, trigonometry and basic math; English reading and writing.
• Working knowledge of shop machining equipment.
• Blueprint reading skills.
• Understanding of key Quality & Environmental Management Systems procedures related to job function.
• Understanding of forms, tags and labels governing job function.

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent.

Wage: $36.88 – $46.99.
