Job summary

A leading mining company is seeking a Tire Technician for their Detour Lake Mine. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with open-pit mining equipment, specifically Ultra Class tires. Responsibilities include inspecting tires, operating vehicles, and maintaining equipment records. The position requires a minimum of five years related experience and a High School Diploma or GED. The role features a 14/14 work schedule with accommodations and meals provided on site.

Responsibilities
  • Performs inspections of tires and wheel components;
  • Operates light vehicles in mine to assess reported tire problems on production and auxiliary equipment when necessary;
  • Operates tire manipulator to change out wheel/tire assemblies;
  • Maintains records of all equipment, wheels or tires worked on and highlights the nature of the repairs to wheels, tubes, tires, etc. conducts inventory of direct charge tires and accessories;
  • Checks tire pressures as required to ensure that they are within the specified limits and adjust to improve the equipment’s operational efficiency and tire life;
  • Maintains good housekeeping and safety practices;
  • Responsible for tools and keeping work area clean and orderly. (Housekeeping);
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work area.
Qualifications
  • Experience with open‑pit mining equipment, notably Ultra Class size tires 59/80R63 & CAT 795 & 798 haulage trucks;
  • Experienced with large, counterbalanced tire manipulators equipped with a tire hand;
  • Minimum five years’ related experience in a fast‑paced production environment;
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED;
  • Computer literate and proven knowledge of work order systems, and tire monitoring systems;
  • Experience working at a remote work site is an asset;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule

Schedule: 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;

Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
