Job summary

A forestry management company located in Canada is seeking a Timber Cruiser for full-time work during the 2026 spring season. The ideal candidate will have experience in timber cruising, outdoor expertise, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Timber Cruising.
  • Education in any type of Resource Management or Forestry programs would be an asset.
  • A valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent and a current Driver’s Abstract.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with valid BC Intermediate or Advanced First Aid certification.
  • Pre-employment drug testing required for safety-sensitive positions.
  • Ability to work away from home for scheduled periods.
  • ATV and Resource Road Driving experience.
  • Detail-oriented and diligent attitude.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in remote camping considered an asset.
  • Chainsaw experience considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Traverse with a GPS unit to establish accurate plot locations.
  • Use forest measurement techniques to assess stand volume and health.
  • Produce high-quality data to report back to management.
  • Use CruiseMate to navigate and upload data.
  • Knowledge of the BC Timber Cruising Manual.
  • Inspire team performance.
  • Complete job duties in physically strenuous terrains.
  • Navigate forest service roads and off-highway driving.
  • Administrative support for production and payroll tracking.
  • Knowledge of compilation programs like CompMate.
  • Follow all company policies and regulations.
  • Organize equipment before, during, and after shifts.
