Job summary

Kibbi is seeking an experienced tile installer for residential and commercial projects in Victoria, BC. The role involves measuring, laying and finishing tile work across various sites with attention to detail and safety compliance.

Applicants should have 3–5 years of tile installation experience, be able to work on multiple sites, and pass a criminal record check. This is a permanent, full-time position with 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered.
• Set tiles in place and press to affix to base.
• Align and straighten tiles.
• Cut, fit around obstacles with hand/power tools.
• Pack grout into joints and remove excess grout.
• Install tiles for decorative walls, murals and floors.

Tasks

• Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered
• Mix, apply and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives using hand trowel
• Prepare rough plans and sketches
• Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to base
• Align and straighten tiles
• Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools
• Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout
• Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles
• Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural and floor designs
• Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires and brackets
• Cut, surface, polish and install marble and granite
• Mix, lay and polish terra surfaces
• Install tile strips
