Job summary

A leading energy company is seeking a Plant Manager to oversee operations at a thermal power plant in Ontario. This role involves ensuring operational readiness, regulatory compliance, and effective budget management. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years' experience in steam or gas turbine operations and hold a relevant engineering certification. Strong leadership and planning skills, along with proficiency in MS Office, are essential. Candidates must communicate effectively in English and possess a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years in steam and/or gas turbine operations.
  • Experience with IESO, HONI, and TSSA processes.
  • Knowledge of thermal power generation operations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead plant operators and personnel.
  • Ensure operational readiness to meet dispatch instructions.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and manage budgets for operations and maintenance.
  • Lead procurement activities and manage supplier relationships.
  • Prepare reports on staffing, operations, and compliance.
  • Participate in initiatives to extend plant capacity and services.
