North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner for Hand Therapy (0.59 WTE, 22 hours) to join the outpatient team at PCH site. The role includes 1:1 assessments, group facilitation, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support patient rehabilitation.

You will manage a caseload of non-complex patients under supervision from therapists, participate in in-service training, and contribute to 7-day service delivery as required.

Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner (0.59 WTE, 22 hours) – Hand therapy

An opportunity has arisen for a (0.59 WTE, 22 hours) Band 4 post within the Hand Therapy outpatient team. The hand therapy team is a friendly team who work across three sites treating patients recovering from hand injuries, and conditions that affect the hands. We are a supportive team and you will have regular training and weekly supervision. Your role will include clinical (1:1 clinical assessments and facilitating groups) and non clinical duties such as stock taking, general housekeeping and administrative duties. The post will be based at PCH site.

Interviews for this role will be conducted in person to assess relevant skills effectively

To undertake assessments and treatments for patients that have been screened by a Therapist and deemed appropriate for Therapy Assistant Practitioner intervention with case management advice available via indirect and direct contact with a registered therapist.

To carry own caseload of non-complex patients assessing, according to competencies, and devising and implementing treatment programmes within a framework of protocols and/or competency.

To work collaboratively within Multidisciplinary and Multi-agency teams with the aim of supporting timely discharge.

To enable patients, their families and carers in the attainment of their rehabilitation goals by providing treatment programmes developed and monitored by Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists in supervision.

To deliver safe, efficient and effective patient focussed care in line with local standards.

To be actively involved in the in-service training programme, including the mentoring and training of Band 2 and 3 therapy assistants and supporting students as required.

To participate in the provision of 7-day services as required.

To adhere to the Trusts values and behaviours.
