Job summary

Carewest in Calgary is seeking a Temporary Full Time care support worker to assist residents with daily living activities under supervision. The role includes participating in social events, group exercises, and craft activities to enhance quality of life.

The position requires Grade 12, active CPR, and a PCA or leisure activities certificate; hospital or continuing care experience is preferred and geriatric experience is an asset.

Qualifications

• Graduation from Grade 12.
• Current and active Basic Life Support Provider CPR is required.
• PCA, Certificate in leisure activities or equivalent.
• Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Related experience in a hospital or continuing care facility is preferred.
• Geriatric experience is an asset.
• Program specific training/experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Under close supervision, and in accordance with established policies, procedures and care plans, performs a variety of routine client care support activities to optimize the functional abilities of residents.
• Duties may include assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADL), instructing craft classes, assisting with social events, group exercises and games.
• Responsible for other related duties as required.

The Opportunity

comfortable and supportive environments. Carewest offers a mix of secured and unsecured units.
