The ohpikîhakan Foster Care program at The Family Centre has a unique approach to foster care that emphasizes the holistic needs of children and youth, including a strong emphasis on cultural and relational connection, as well as reunification with family and community. In this model, caregivers receive extensive initial and ongoing training, are supported by therapeutic supervisors, and are an integral part of the circle of support surrounding children, youth, and their families.
The Therapeutic Supervisor is involved in the training, equipping, and supervision of caregivers. This includes a significant proportion of Urban Indigenous, First Nations, Metis, and Inuit individuals, refugees and first-generation Canadians, and 2SLGBTQ+ individuals that have experienced the impacts of colonization, trauma, and multigenerational abuse and neglect.
The Therapeutic Supervisor is a member of the ohpikîhakan Foster Care program as well as the TFC Leadership team, which is comprised of managers and supervisors from all different service areas of The Family Centre. The Therapeutic Supervisor reports to the Manager of Foster Care.
This is a full-time position (36.5 hours per week), with evening and weekend availability required.
Closing Date: February 9, 2026
