Job description

We are looking for a team-oriented person to fill the F/T role ofTextile Cutting Technician.

This is not a summer job, not a coop or internship; therefore, do not apply for this role if you are currently enrolled in school.

The hours for this role are: Monday to Friday 06:30 to 15:00

This position is responsible for laying up multiple layers of fabric (Tulle, Organza, Satin, Spandex...) which will then be cut on an Eastman automated cutting machine. These cut pieces are then sent to our TSS (Toyota Sewing System) Lean Manufacturing Cells where they are sewn into our award-winning Great Pretenders children's costumes (Princess Dresses, Fairy Tunics, Capes, Tutus...) which are sold in Canada, United States and Europe.

Additionally, he/she organizes the production warehouse, to ensure materials and tools are in the appropriate places for easy access and utilization. The Textile Cutting Technician is accountable to ensure that the product quality is in compliance with Creative Education’s overall quality standards, before passing the material to our TSS cells.

Responsibilities of the role:

• Lay-up and cut material for production work orders using CAD/CAM system
• Use fabric patterns and cut fabric according to specifications
• Adjust cutting technique to type of fabric and style of garment
• Confirm all cut materials going into production are to Quality standards
• Oversee organization of Production Warehouse
