Qualifications

Your mission:

We are seeking a Testing Technician to join our growing team in Edmonton. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator who can collaborate seamlessly across departments to support testing, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires attention to detail, technical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety and compliance.

In this role you will:

  • Perform final electrical and functional testing of controllers in accordance with established procedures and product quality guidelines.
  • Identify, document, and communicate manufacturing or quality concerns to management.
  • Record and maintain accurate test results in computerized quality databases.
  • Conduct rework and repairs on products that fail post-production testing.
  • Assist in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for recurring test failures
  • Support product transformation processes, firmware updates, and related documentation.
  • Update and maintain testing procedures, manuals, and documentation to reflect current practices.
  • Monitor and feedback prototype performance and manufacturing defect trends to improve processes.
  • Maintain calibration of test beds and test equipment.
  • Ensure Reliable Controls application software and test files are current and functioning properly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve test bed and software issues in collaboration with R&D.
  • Train and mentor new Testing Technicians and/or Operators.
  • Participate in business continuity, workplace safety, and environmental programs, including WHMIS and Hazmat responsibilities.
  • Support Final Assembly and Through Hole teams when needed.
  • Contribute to team-based initiatives for continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and 5S workplace organization.

This role might be right for you if you have:

  • Have at least 2+ years experience with hands-on electronics manufacturing and testing of sub-assemblies
  • Experience with troubleshooting and repair of electronics sub-assemblies
  • Strong knowledge of test instrumentation, calibration, and software tools.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards, WHMIS, and health & safety practices is an asset.
