Job summary

Jabil is hiring for an onsite startup role at the Prince George facility to build and oversee new manufacturing operations for large form-factor equipment. You will help establish processes, train staff, and set up the line from the ground up, including wire assemblies and high/low voltage work.

The position involves a 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM Monday to Friday shift, with emphasis on collaboration with Test Engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure efficient production and safe operation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist Test Engineers when commissioning new test equipment.
• Provide line support to manufacturing for test processes.
• Ensure timely response to machine downtime and coordinate repairs.
• Maintain spare parts and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Produce daily line issue reports and periodic downtime analyses.
• Escalate unresolved issues to Test Engineers and guide operators on test equipment use.

** On-site at our Prince George, VA facility. **

This role is to support a new factory in Prince George, VA (onsite) startup manufacturing large form-factor equipment. The product will be large (shipping container size), heavy (50+ tons), and complex. This position will be part of the core factory startup and onboarding team responsible for building the operations and manufacturing staff, fitting out the building, and creating the process flow/work instructions/etc. from the ground up. Skills to include: panel and point to point wire assembly, Medium Voltage, Low Voltage, and High Power Electronic assemblies. Shift: 6AM – 2:30PM Monday to Friday

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides input for colleague’s performance appraisals
• Assists Test Engineers when commissioning new test equipment.
• Provides technical assistance to other technicians on the same shift.
• Provides line support to manufacturing for all test processes.
• Ensures “machine down” calls are responded to in a timely manner.
• Liaises with manufacturing to determine repair priorities.
• Ensures adequate spares are available for all allocated equipment.
• Ensures Preventative Maintenance is carried out at specified intervals on all allocated equipment.
• Liaises with manufacturing to ensure Preventative Maintenance does not impact production schedule.
• Escalates to Test Engineers any unresolved/ongoing issues.
• Instructs operators on safe/effective use of test equipment.
• Provides daily report of all line issues.
• Provides weekly/quarterly downtime reports for allocated equipment.
• Sources spares from the most cost effective supplier.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to operate a personal computer including using a Windows based operating system and related software.
• Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Read and understand visual aid.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Hourly Pay Range

The hourly pay range for this role is $26.30 - $47.36. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
