MDA Space in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, QC is seeking a Test Engineer to join our satellite systems team. The role focuses on developing state-of-the-art test stations to automate production and ensure antenna performance in orbit meets customer requirements.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, define test plans, and develop software and RF test procedures. A strong background in electromagnetism or microwaves and programming is required, with French language skills preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or physics.
• Strong programming skills and a solid foundation in electromagnetism or microwaves.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Good command of spoken and written French.

We are looking for a Test Engineerto join our satellite systems team at our Montreal office.

Role:

The test engineer will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop state-of-the-art test stations to automate the production of geostationary antennas or constellations. You will be part of a specialized testing team tasked with ensuring that the performance of the antennas, once in orbit, meets customer requirements and enables the provision of the communication services required for the mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Liaise with the design team
• Analyze test requirements
• Define test methods and techniques
• Define test equipment and test data processing methods
• Draft test plans, procedures, and reports
• Develop software applications and automated test and RF measurement procedures
• Code and validate test sequences
• Monitoring tests and providing operational support according to the required specialty:
• RF in PIM, Near-Field, or Compact Test Range
• RF in Active Electronics, Burn-In
• Power in Electronic Power Converters
• Metrology in Flight Unit Alignment
• Mechanical in Thermal Testing
• Planning and coordinating test activities and the technical team.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or physics.
• The candidate must have a background in electrical engineering or physics with a solid foundation in electromagnetism or microwaves, as well as strong programming skills.
• 5 years of experience
• A motivated individual with a sense of initiative, strong team coordination skills, and a passion for improving test techniques.
• Good command of spoken and written French
