Job summary

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of British Columbia’s Vancouver campus invites applications for a full-time position at the rank of assistant professor (tenure-track) or associate professor (tenure-track or tenured) in the area of computer engineering, with a research focus on computing systems.

We interpret computing systems broadly and welcome applications from candidates working in areas including computer architecture, digital and embedded systems,

Qualifications

• PhD in computer engineering, computer science, or related field by start date.
• P.Eng. or EGBC licensure within five years of appointment; not required at application.
• Record of research excellence or potential with publications in computing systems venues.
• Evidence of strong teaching ability or potential for excellence at undergrad/grad levels.
• Evidence of service to the academic and professional community.

Responsibilities

• Develop an independent, internationally recognized research program and secure external funding.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate computer engineering courses, including core and specialized areas.
• Supervise graduate and undergraduate students; contribute service to the department and university.
• Participate in academic and professional service activities.
