Job summary

Magna International in Ontario is seeking a Material Coordinator to manage raw material scheduling and inventory accuracy to support production requirements. You will coordinate inbound/outbound materials, maintain communication across production teams and suppliers, and ensure ASN processing and ERP system updates are accurate.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent required.
• APICs courses/certification or post-secondary in Materials Management, or 2+ years in material coordinator/Supply Chain.
• Experience with a formalized MRP/ERP system.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate production material inbound and outbound.
• Establish and maintain effective communications with production and support groups, including outside groups (transportation and suppliers).
• Inform team of daily requirements based on EDI information.
• Create shippers and verify ASN processing.
• Monitor and respond to supplier communications as scheduled.
• Advise on shipping and receiving priorities and changes.
• Assist with resolving scheduling issues.
• Complete Material Coordinator duties as outlined in the standard work checklist.
• Act as liaison between Formet Industries and suppliers.
• Complete cycle counts to meet departmental goals.
• Support inventory escalation and ASN monitoring.

Job Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the preparation, communicating and monitoring of the division’s raw material schedules to support production requirements, and ensuring our inventory policies are met. They are also responsible for the documentation and accuracy of the divisions in house inventory as well as monitoring inventory systems, training and system maintenance.

Position Salary

$33.32 - $35.76 CAD Hourly

This range reflects only the base salary and does not include other components of our total compensation package, such as the Continuous Improvement Program, GRRSP Matching, MBC Program, and other variable benefits.

Who We Are Looking For

• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent education.
• Must be enrolled in or have completed APICs courses or certification or post‑secondary education in Materials Management or have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a material coordinator position or Supply Chain.
• Experience working with a formalized MRP or ERP system.
• Microsoft office.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate production material inbound and / or outbound.
• Establish and maintain effective communications with all production a support groups, including outside groups (transportation and suppliers).
• Keep all team members informed of daily requirements; based on EDI information.
• Create shippers as required for suppliers and verify ASN processing.
• Monitor and respond to all supplier related communications as scheduled.
• Instruct and advise of shipping and receiving priorities and changes.
• Assist with resolving scheduling issues.
• Complete Material Coordinator Position as outlined on Material Coordinator Job Description/ Standard work checklist.
• Act as Liaison between Formet Industries and suppliers.
• Complete cycle counts to meet departmental goals.
• Participate in quoting new business opportunities as requested.
• Support inventory escalation process (ie last bin calls) and overflow concerns.
• Participate in ASN monitoring and receipt discrepancies.
• Maintain ETQ and QPF systems.

Team Member Benefits
