Job summary

Holy Family Catholic Regional Division (HFCRD) is seeking a Temporary Custodial Assistant to support school custodial teams at St. Andrews's School in High Prairie, St. Stephen's School in Valleyview, and École Providence School in McLennan.

The role begins as soon as a suitable candidate is found, with a projected start of June 26, 2026. Tasks include cleaning, disinfection, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Be conscientious, reliable with a consistent work ethic.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience in custodial work is an asset but not required.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs and perform physical tasks (bending, standing).
• Maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively in a Christ-centered environment.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and disinfecting high touch points multiple times during the day.
• Supply checks: paper towels, cloths, soap, disinfectant.
• Clean/disinfect classrooms: desks, chairs, surfaces.
• Clean/disinfect hallways/corridors and door handles.
• Washrooms and infirmary rooms cleaning/disinfecting surfaces.
• Offices cleaning and equipment sanitation.
• Report deficiencies or safety issues to supervisor.
• Assist with other duties as directed by principal/maintenance.
• Seasonal/exterior duties: sweeping entrances, snow/salt removal, exterior bins.

Temporary School-Based Custodial Assistant

HFCRD is recruiting a Temporary Custodial Assistant(s) to support our custodial teams in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students and staff, in High Prairie, Valleyview, and McLennan. This position will start as soon as a suitable candidate is found-June 26, 2026.

The Custodial Assistant's role is crucial in supporting the Head Custodian to ensure that school grounds are well maintained and clean throughout the year.

The ideal candidate will:

• Be conscientious, reliable, and have a consistent work ethic.
• Have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Have a background or experience in custodial work, an asset but not required.
• Have the ability to work in a confidential and Christ-centered environment.
• Have the ability to lift 30lbs.
• Have the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Maintain a polite and positive attitude, confidentiality and communicate effectively.
• Be dependable, with the flexibility to work varied shifts as needed.

Primary Duties will include:

• Cleaning and disinfection of high touch points multiple times during the day.
• Supplies (paper towels, cloths, soap and disinfectant spray/wipes) checked daily
• Classroom cleaning/disinfect: Desks, chairs, pencil sharpeners, telephones, doorknobs, light switches, sink faucets, soap dispensers, and all classroom surfaces.
• Hallways and Corridors cleaning/disinfect: Light switches, elevator buttons, stair railings, entrance door handles, alarm panels, inside handicap door buttons.
• Washrooms and infirmary rooms - cleaning/disinfecting all surfaces.
• Offices cleaning/disinfect: Desks, chairs, telephones, light switches, doorknobs, copiers/equipment.
• Communicate with the supervisor any deficiencies, building, equipment and safety issues.
• Other duties assigned by the principal, head custodian or maintenance supervisor.
• Seasonal and exterior duties include sweeping school entrances, removing snow/salt within designated areas. Emptying exterior garbage bins and maintaining school grounds.

Wage - Salary dependent on qualifications and experience - $18.37 - $25.08
