A community-based hospice organization in Ottawa is seeking a dedicated RPN for a staff nursing position. This role involves providing compassionate end-of-life care and supporting families. Candidates must be registered nurses with certifications in palliative care and CPR. Strong communication and team-oriented leadership skills are essential. This temporary position offers flexible shifts and a supportive work environment.
A staff nursing RPN position of 0.50 FTE in our community-based residence hospice. This position includes eight consecutive 8-hour regularly scheduled shifts at May Court Hospice. The current schedule consists of five day shifts, three evening shifts, every other weekend of Standby. Based on staffing needs, the successful applicant can pick up extra shifts up to a 1.0 FTE. Picked up shifts will not increase the FTE. You may be required to transfer to an alternate site. The rate of pay is your current Hospice Care Ottawa RPN rate based on the wage schedule in the collective agreement. This posting is intended to fill a temporary vacant position. This position is not eligible for group benefits however is eligible for paid personal/sick leave.
Plans, coordinates, delivers and supports a team to provide day to day end-of-life palliative care for the residents in the Hospice and their families and/or significant others.
Reports to the Team Leader(s), with oversight and support from the Director of Residence Care.
Under the direction and supervision of the Team Leader(s), the care team, including volunteers, provides end-of-life palliative care to the residents in the Hospice, and provides support to their families and/or significant others.
