Job summary

The University of Toronto seeks a Machinist Journeyperson (Millwright) - Temp to perform a variety of millwright work under general supervision in our facilities operations. You will read drawings, set up and use measuring tools, and perform maintenance on pumps, motors and fans.

The role requires a High school diploma and a valid Ontario Millwright Red Seal, with OHSA/WHMIS knowledge. This is a 1-year term, with a pay rate around $45.10/hour and a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret technical drawings (orthographic, pictorial, schematic).
• Use measuring tools, hand tools and power tools.
• Rigging and hoisting abilities; lift heavy equipment.
• Maintain prime movers, pumps, motors and fans incl. bearings.

Responsibilities

• Work ethically and safely with high quality workmanship.
• Maintain and rebuild pumps, motors and fans; gas turbines as needed.
• Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems and equipment.
• Prepare sketches and interpret drawings, schematics and specifications.
