Alberta Health Services is seeking a Telecom Operator to monitor radio activities and manage calls for security requests. The role involves maintaining awareness of field activities and ensuring that operational information is effectively communicated.
The ideal candidate should have a Grade 12 education, relevant certification, and strong customer service experience. Candidates must be eligible for a Community Peace Officer appointment. A commitment to security screening is also required.
There are four positions available. As a Telecom Operator at AHS, you will monitor radio activities and receive calls for security requests. You'll provide timely and efficient documentation of all AHS Provincial Protective Services officers’ activities, work within various information database systems and coordinate the administrative assignment of Protective Services officers working in the AHS site.
As the Telecommunications Officer, you will monitor radio activity to maintain awareness of field activities, ensure pertinent operational information is shared and provide an immediate link to emergency and non-emergency assistance on behalf of Protective Services Officers.
Completion of Grade 12.Completion of certificate or diploma related to Emergency Communications and Response, Law Enforcement, Security or Criminology.Must be eligible for Solicitor General's Community Peace Officer Level II appointment.
High level of experience with Microsoft Office and email required. Demonstrated telephone skills are required. 3 – 5 years’ experience in a customer service environment. Requires a high degree of customer service, problem solving, interpersonal skills and critical thinking. Must have demonstrated experience resolving complex client issues. Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal is required; superior active listening and interpretative skills are required.
Valid First Aid certificate, BCLS-HCP training.
