Job summary

iA Financial Group is seeking a Technology Designer, Networking, in a hybrid Montreal/QC environment. You will guide the detailed technical design of advanced networking projects, aligning architecture with delivery teams and automating services for secure production deployments.

You’ll mentor analysts and collaborate with developers to ensure end-to-end automation and security by design. The role requires several years in network design across hybrid/cloud environments, deep knowledge of cloud

Qualifications

• Several years of experience designing complex networking solutions in hybrid and cloud environments.
• Expertise in cloud networking (Azure, AWS, GCP, or OCI) and application delivery/exposure (Akamai CDN/WaaP/DNS and NGINX).
• Proficiency with cloud interconnectivity, automation tooling (Terraform, Ansible, Azure DevOps), and core networking fundamentals (BGP/OSPF) plus security technologies (Palo Alto firewalls).
• Fluent in French with intermediate English; weekly collaboration with English-speaking partners.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead the detailed technical design of complex networking projects from inception to production deployment.
• Act as a technical leader for analysts, delivery teams, partners, and vendors.
• Advance initiatives, document decisions, and promote secure, automated networking services.
• Support development teams with application connectivity, exposure, and protection requirements.
• Drive automation and NetDevOps practices, and promote Infrastructure as Code.

• Independently lead the detailed technical design of complex projects and ensure their integrity through to production deployment;
• Act as a technical leader for analysts, delivery teams, partners, and vendors;
• Advance initiatives, clarify decisions, and constructively challenge proposed solutions;
• Design simple, standardized, secure, and self-service networking services;
• Support development teams with application and API connectivity, exposure, and protection requirements;
• Drive the evolution of automation, NetDevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code;
• Produce required technical documentation and promote knowledge sharing within the team;
• Mentor and coach analysts to strengthen their autonomy, critical thinking, and adoption of modern practices and solutions;
• Help evolve the team toward an approach centered on end-to‑to‑end automation, security by design, and close collaboration with development teams.

• Possesses expertise in multiple areas, including cloud networking (Azure, AWS, GCP, or OCI), application delivery and exposure (Akamai CDN/WaaP/DNS and NGINX), cloud interconnectivity, automation (Terraform, Ansible, Azure DevOps), as well as networking fundamentals (BGP/OSPF routing) and security technologies (Palo Alto firewalls);
• Has an advanced level of French and an intermediate level of English, as the role requires weekly communication with English‑speaking technology partners and solution providers through emails and conference calls.
