Job summary

Reporting to: Superviseur, Groupe électronique

Our ABB Mesure & Analyse de Québec factory is a world leader in the field of spectroscopy. Our contract engineering service is the largest Canadian supplier of optical space sensors used, among other things, for monitoring greenhouse gas emissions and global weather forecasting. Our factory is also recognized for its expertise in developing and manufacturing various products that meet daily industrial analysis needs.

By joining one of the largest engineering departments in Québec, you will actively contribute to the activities of a dynamic and stimulating multidisciplinary team.

Attached to the supervisor of the electronic group, you will work as a Technician in wiring, assembly, testing, and material coordination within the electrical engineering team (Groupe Électronique).

Your Role:
  • Assemble harnesses and electronic cards for prototypes and test means.
  • Make cable drawings (choice of connectors, wiring...)
  • Facilitate problems with assembly and manufacturing of cables and harnesses (DFM role)
  • Participate in the start-up of electronic cards and cable testing.
  • Ensure follow-up of orders with suppliers, goods reception, quality, and internal store as well as traceability of parts internally.
  • Support buyers in their negotiation and decision-making strategy for parts equivalences.
  • Manage communications with project managers for material availability
What You Need:
  • Technical DEC with at least one significant experience in assembling electronic cards and wiring harnesses.
  • Good team working capacity, rigor, initiative, and determination.
  • Good knowledge of the Office suite, particularly Excel and Visio.
  • Good knowledge of French and English, spoken and written. French is required. English is also required to communicate regularly with clients outside of Québec.
  • Knowledge of Windchill, JIRA, and SAP (an asset).
  • Knowledge of fabrication/inspection of electronic cards and harnesses according to IPC 610 and IPC 620 standards (an asset).
