Job summary

A global technology company in Alberta is seeking a motivated individual to join the RMO HDI-Reliability Laboratory. The role involves assembling HDD drives, maintaining testing equipment, and collaborating with engineers to ensure quality testing. A diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering is required. Candidates should have good problem-solving skills and be comfortable in a cleanroom environment. Night shifts will be part of the role.

Join the RMO HDI-Reliability Laboratory, where we deliver mechanical test solutions to qualify media and substrate processes, support product yield, and ensure quality and reliability. Our team is critical in media mechanical design, mDVL testing, tribology, topography testing, and defect reduction. We collaborate closely with R&D and Manufacturing.

About the Role

Assemble HDD drives manually; manage test loading and unloading.

Set up and maintain PC-based testers (Windows/Linux).

Perform hands‑on setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mDVL testers.

Conduct head and media analysis using microscopes, optical scans, and metrology equipment.

Deploy technical solutions to improve test functionality.

Collaborate with engineers to resolve testing issues, support test recovery, and failure analysis.

Ensure quality testing meets Media Mechanical CTQ and reliability requirements.

Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment.

Willing to work on 12‑hour night shift pattern.

Your Experience Includes

Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic Engineering, or related Engineering Diploma.

Relevant experience with Microscope or metrology equipment will be an advantageous.

Experience or coursework in data mining, failure analysis to support problem‑solving and improvement projects.
