Magna International Limited in Canada is seeking an experienced technician to administer preventive maintenance on Fanuc robots and welding equipment. You will develop standardized resistance welding processes, elongate electrode life, and troubleshoot welding issues on multiple systems.

The role requires 5 years of related experience, a provincial certificate, strong English skills, and a toolbox. Proficiency in FANUC programming and knowledge of MEDAR/Lincoln welders are essential.

Qualifications

• A valid Provincial Certificate or equivalent education.
• 5 years related experience.
• Good command of the English language (both verbal and written).
• Must have toolbox / Tools required to carry out tasks of position.
• Proficient in FANUC programming.
• Knowledge of resistance and drawn arc welding equipment. MEDAR and Lincoln welders.

Responsabilités

• Administer and execute the preventative maintenance program.
• Safe and efficient repair and maintenance of Fanuc robots and welding equipment.
• Develop and standardize Resistance Welding processes.
• Implement systems to elongate electrode life (stepper programs, dressers, etc.).
• Respond to Corrective Action Reports (define root cause, implement corrections and evaluate implementation).
• Get involved in troubleshooting of resistance welding issues mig welding and drawn arc welding.
• Develop documentation system for processes.
• Standardize welding consumables where possible to achieve cost reduction.
• Improve / develop / standardize destructive and non-destructive tests.
• Maintain a database with records of changes and welding schedules by machine/part.
• Support maintenance of spare parts list.
• Routine maintenance of production equipment to ensure the most efficient flow of production with the least possible downtime.
• Support welding development, new schedules and corrections on improvements as well as robot programming and scheduled maintenance.
• Work with production scheduler to schedule repairs ensuring scheduler is aware when work assignments cannot be completed as planned.

Salary Range : $37.95-$44.06/ hour

Tasks that this position controls or is responsible for:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Must have Tool box / Tools required to carry out tasks of position. Any other specialty tools may be supplied by company.
• Proficient in FANUC programming
• Knowledge of resistance and drawn arc welding equipment. MEDAR and Lincoln welders
