Job summary

Centerra Gold is seeking a Technician, Pit Dewatering for their Mount Milligan Mine located in Fort St. James, BC. In this role, you will operate heavy equipment and maintain dewatering systems in a mining environment while enjoying a competitive wage of $37.18 per hour plus benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant mining experience.
• Experience in HDPE fusion and well pump installations.
• Training in heavy equipment operation is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support HDPE pipe fusing and splicing.
• Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, and excavators.
• Assist with pipeline relocation and pump setup.

About Mount Milligan Mine

Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck‑shovel open‑pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.

Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi‑Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Technician, Pit Dewatering to join our Mount Milligan Mine team. Reporting to the Supervisor, Dewatering and Tailings, the Technician, Pit Dewatering is responsible for safe and proficient operation of one or more pieces of CAT mobile equipment in a mining environment; responsible for maintaining and supporting pit dewatering systems to ensure operational reliability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain operational integrity of all dewatering systems.
• Support HDPE pipe fusing and splicing.
• Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, and excavators.
• Assist with pipeline relocation, pump setup, and refueling.
• Maintain clean and safe work environments.
• Contribute to policy development and continuous improvement efforts.
• Participate in training and mentoring initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the department.

About You

• Grade 12 Diploma or GED.
• 4+ years mining experience in dewatering or pumping roles.
• Knowledge of HDPE fusing and installation (4" to 42" lines).
• Experience installing well pumps.
• Equipment operation experience (dozer, loader, excavator).
• Heavy equipment training and experience is an asset.
• Valid Canadian Driver’s License.

Working Conditions

• Camp‑based role working 12‑hour days on a 7 day on/7 day off rotation, with accommodation provided during rotation.
• Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts.
• Occasional exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Safety‑sensitive environment with zero‑tolerance drug and alcohol policy.
• Bus transportation provided from regional locations.
