Qualifications

  • Knowledge of provincial and federal safety code requirements preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, skid steers, and other heavy equipment preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in loading dangerous goods preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team and possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email preferred.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multitask daily within the department.
  • Willingness to work night shifts and additional hours.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in morning toolboxes and safety meetings.
  • Complete preventive maintenance on operating equipment.
  • Perform daily loading activities as specified by the Loadout Supervisor.

Reporting to the Loadout Supervisor and/or Loadout Crew Leader, the Loadout Technician will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the loading systems and equipment associated with the Urea and Liquid NH3 loading processes.

This position is a temporary role for 18-months with the possibility of extension. This role is located at Nutrien's Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta site and is not eligible for remote work. This role

What you will do:

  • Participate in morning toolboxes, safety meetings, and inspections
  • Complete progression system within prescribed timeframe
  • Complete preventive maintenance on operating equipment and associated systems within standard operating conditions and limits
  • Complete daily loading activities as specified by the Loadout Supervisor. Accomplished by a rotation based on the team personnel and daily shipping requirements of the Nutrien Shipping Department

What you will bring:

  • Knowledge of provincial and federal safety code requirements including TDG Regulations and Industrial Rail Operation Rules (IROR) preferred but not required
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment including forklifts, skid steer, Rail car mover, and front-end loader preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated experience loading dangerous goods preferred
  • Ability to work in a team environment and possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email preferred
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated
  • Ability to be able to multitask on a daily basis within the department
  • Able to work night shifts and additional hours as required
